Jinn Resembling a Snake

Once, the Chief of Saints Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Ghaus-e-Azam) (R.A) was performing a speech in an Ijtima (congregation) at his Madarsa when a big snake fell from the ceiling and landed on Him (R.A).

The audience started to panic. Everyone was scared but Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam (R.A) did not move from His (R.A) place. The snake slipped into his clothes and wrapped itself around the blessed body of Hazrat Ghaus-Paak (R.A). The snake then came out of the collar and wrapped itself around the blessed neck of our Murshid, the great Shaikh of Baghdad did not get worried nor did He (R.A) stop His speech.

The snake slid to the ground, stood on its tail, said something and went away. The audience gathered around Ghaus-e-Azam (R.A) and asked, “Ya Shaikh, What did the snake say to you (R.A)?”

Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam (R.A) replied, “The snake said that I have tested a lot of Friends of Allah (S.W.T), but I have not found anyone like you”. (Bahja-tul-Asrar wa ma'danul anwaar, P168, Dar-ul-Kutubul Ilmiyyah)

True Home

One day, Hazrat Sayyiduna Ibn'e Mu'tee (R.A) saw His splendid house and became very happy but then started crying. He (R.A) said, “O’ beautiful home! If there was no death I would be happy with you. If I didn't have to go in my tight grave I would be indulging myself in the beauties of this world.” After saying this he started to cry again. (It’lahaafus Saadaatil Muttaqeen, V14, P32, Dar-ul-Kutubul llmiya)

Buried Treasure

Hazrat Hasan bin Ziyaad (R.A) relates that a man once buried his treasure and then forgot where he had buried it. He searched everywhere but could not find it. He decided to go and see the Greatest Imam of Fiqh, Hazrat Imam-e-Azam Abu Hanifa (R.A) and related his problem.

Hazrat Imam-e-Azam Abu Hanifa (R.A) advised him, “This is not a problem of Fiqh that I can solve. Go home and offer Salah all night until you remember where you have buried it”.

Acting upon the Imam's advice he stood in Prayer, after less than a quarter of the night had passed, he remembered where he had buried the treasure. The man then went and retrieved the treasure.

The following day the man related the events to Hazrat Imam-e-Azam Abu Hanifa (R.A) who in return said, “I knew the Shaitaan would not let you pray all night until he himself would remind you. Only if you had prayed all night thanking Allah (S.W.T)!”.
